Who is your Hair Hero? Why?Sam Lapin. He was known for his advancements in hair colour, he was the man who turned Norma Jean into the Blonde Marilyn Monroe. Try to imagine a world without hair-colour!!! Thank goodness for Sam Lapin we don't have to.

If you could have a dinner with any three people from any time, who would they be?
My 3 people would be… Coco Chanel, Marie Antoniette, and Cher. Those ladies would just be so funny and fashionable. The stories they would have would be remarkable. They all lived in such different times that getting their reactions on how the world has changed in all aspects would be so interesting.
What did you get into trouble for the most when you were a child?I can remember getting into trouble because I wouldn't stay in bed when company was over. My parents always liked to have friends over to play cards and so I'd sit and the bottom of the stairs where they couldn't see me and listen to my dad's dirty jokes. My mom also says that my red headed stubbornness was sometimes a problem. I just can't help my self.
If you could do something dangerous just once with no risk what would you do?I would love to go paragliding. Jumping off a cliff and then floating around for a while after wards would be pretty great. Oh and sky diving … and swimming with sharks.
If you could personally witness one event in history what would it be?I think Woodstock would have been amazing. The music would have been life changing. I probably wouldn't have danced around naked, but there would definatly be flowers in my hair.
What store would you choose to max out your credit card?Bergdorf Goodman. Shoes, bags, sunglasses….. drool.
One weapon, person or unlimited source of food with you during a zombie apocalypse, which do you choose and what/who do you pick?With my immune system being so sensitive, one of two things would happen. One- I would become immune to the zombie virus and live for ever unharmed. Two- I would become the queen of the zombies and use my minions to bring me food and keep me safe.
Who is your Hair Hero? Why?I love anyone who mixes classic style with modern rawness. Howard Mclaren and Jimmy Paul are great stylist that I find a lot of inspiration from.
Most frequent song played?Wild horses by The Rollingstones is defiantly one of my all time favs and aswell as any remake done of it.
If you were a character on a tv show, which one would you be?Defiantly hands down Monica from Friends. Just play a board game with me and you'll understand.
Which is the best vacation you have ever been on?I went to Italy with my mom 3 years ago and it was life changing. I teared up at the thought of coming home. I could have stayed and drank wine forever.

Marilyn Monroe; because she is my blonde icon! Alexandre de Paris; to hear all his amazing stories and hair secrets. Can I choose myself in 20 years? I want to see what I end up doing with my life and how I get to be there... maybe figure out if there are any changes I want to make along the way!
What did you get into trouble for the most when you were a child?Hmm definitely talking too much! I'm pretty sure every one of my report cards says something along the lines of "Kathleen needs to concentrate more on school and less on socializing"!
What makes someone a success?Loving what you do is probably the most important part of being a success. Hard work and passion go along well with that.

One weapon, person or unlimited source of food with you during a zombie apocalypse, which do you choose and what/who do you pick?I would choose Gerard Butler. He could go all "Sparta" on those zombies and once we were safe we could start to rebuild the human race... if you catch my drift.
Who is your Hair Hero? Why?Louis Alexandre Raimon, better known as Alexandre De Paris. He was such an inspiration to hairstylists around the world and had such belief and conviction in everything that he did. He knew that knowing the classics, the people and the styles that made hairdressing what it is today is so important and that without these bases there is nothing. He is one of those classics.
If you were a character on a tv show, which one would you be?Jem, as in Jem and the Holograms. I loved her!
Which is the best vacation you have ever been on? Europe, every time... (I've been 3 times now). My most recent trip to Brussels, Paris and Rome was amazing and too short! I would go back every week if I could afford it!!

If you could personally witness one event in history what would it be?I would like to go back to the archaic period (800BC-480BC). It is known as one of the most creative periods in history and was an intellectual revolution. I would like to have witnessed some of the very first Olympic Games.

Who is your Hair Hero? WhyHoward McLaren is my Hair Hero. He is Bumble and Bumble's VP and Senior Artistic Director. I had an amazing opportunity to work with him on a photo shoot. His passion is infectious and it was a privilege to have his guidance. It resonated with me when he spoke about pushing hair to its limits and pushing your creative boundaries. Every time I'm styling I remind myself of his advice and always I ask myself 'How can I bring out the best in this vision?' Howard has influenced my aesthetic and truly inspired me.
Who was your first crush?A boy name Steve was my grade six first crush. I remember the day he proposed to me behind the portables with a ring pop.
If you were a character on a tv show, which one would you be?Dana Scully, her character is like my alter ego.

Warren Buffet; I want to understand how someone so intelligent and successful could remain so incredibly humble. Muhammad Yunus; I believe in giving those in need a 'hand up, not a handout' and Mr. Yunus has built a business based on this principle. He instituted microcredit banks in Bangladesh which allowed the poor to start their own businesses - helping to boost the economy as a whole. I love economics; he would be fascinating to listen to. My Grandma; She passed away when I was younger and I wish I could remember her better. I would really like to get to know her personality a bit more.
What did you get into trouble for the most when you were a child?I could be a bit of a smart-aleck to my sisters and parents. I always had to win arguments and have the last word. Fortunately, over the years I've learned to pick my battles.

Three people from any time: Jim Morrison (singer of the Doors); because he made me fall in love with Rock and Roll. It was my #1 destination in Paris to go see his grave. My Grandfather; because he survived the Holocaust and it would be cool to actually know who he was first hand. Audrey Hepburn; she lived through a pretty great time for fashion and acting, and also worked with Unicef for over 40 years.
What did you get into trouble for the most when you were a child?I got into trouble the most for talking out of turn. In elementary school I had a permanent detention spot outside of the class every day. I just wanted it to always be my turn to speak. And not much has changed.
What makes someone a success?I think the most successful people in the world are the ones who are happy every day to be alive and breathing. The rest is just background noise that can be sorted out with solid communication and a good reading of your self worth.

Which is the best vacation you have ever been on? Paris, France. i went there to take a hair course, fell in love and took a few extra days to get lost in various places around Europe. It was life changing, i wouldn't be where I am today without it. Though being an avid skier I love any day spent sliding down mountains on snow.

What did you get into trouble for the most when you were a child?Nothing. My mother and father never gave me trouble. It's true I was grounded lots they never stuck. I love my parents. Oh my sister gave me lots of trouble though. I would borrow her clothes and she hated that. It got to the point that she would set traps in her room to catch me taking her clothes.
If you could do something dangerous just once with no risk what would you do?Ohhh, no risk you say. Hmm, I would want to do some stunt double stuff. Catching on fire. Falling down stairs. Crashing a car. You know stunt double stuff.

Which is the best vacation you have ever been on?I have a three way tie. Paris, Glasgow and Istanbul. Though I love my annual ski trips. But really, put me on a plane and I am content.

What did you get into trouble for the most when you were a child?Pranks on my friends and my oh-so-famous sarcastic humour! I have the same sense of humour to this day, minus the numerous pranks.
If you could do something dangerous just once with no risk what would you do?I would attach rockets to my rollerblades OR ride a bike down the UP escalator! The list goes on, but there's too many to share. Call me crazy.
What makes someone a success?Personality, Strength and devotion. If you can laugh and see the good side of every situation even when it's bad, the strength to keep going even when the going gets tough, and if you're devoted and put your all into everything you do. That's my idea of success.
When was the last time you played air guitar?I don't play air guitar, but I do a sort of 'Night at the Roxbury' head bob and I love to sing out loud!

Johnny Cash; If you have seen "Walk the Line" it says it all. Can you imagine the stories he would have, I mean listen to his songs. It would be entertaining! Russell Peters; I don't know if I would actually eat any of my dinner I would be laughing so much. Myself from a past life; Would that not be so cool to find out who you were, what you did, your accomplishments. To find out if you are similar to who you are now or if you were completely different personality and all.
If you could do something dangerous just once with no risk what would you do?Explore the coastal waters of Australia, SCARY!!! They are some of the most deadly waters in the world. I just watched a show on it and thought, there is no way you could pay me enough to even put my toes in that water. There are things in there that I didn't even know existed.
How often do you make your bed?Rarely, I hate sleeping in a made bed. When it is made, I pull it all apart before I jump in.
What is your favourite restaurant in Edmonton?That's tough… I wouldn't say I have a favourite. I really like Accent and if you have not tried the Mundare Sausage House, it's so good.
If you could personally witness one event in history what would it be?Evolution, I want to know how it all started, to witness it with my own eyes. I bet it would be beautiful.

Another person cannot save you, they are just going to get eaten for dinner too. An unlimited source of food is the same as the witch feeding Hansel and Gretel before she plans to eat them, that's just providing the zombie's a service. If you start with your weapon you can kill zombies while looking for food and look for the other smart people who have weapons. Have you seen "The Walking Dead", do you think Rick Grimes would have found anyone without a weapon? Hmm, think about it.

Right now I would have to say Ellen Degeneres, Russell Peters and Dane Cook! Three of the funniest people ever! And all in a different way. It would be pretty interesting to see what they would come up with for conversation. I love to laugh and you've got to admit a dinner like that would be hilarious and fun!
If you could do something dangerous just once with no risk what would you do?Heli snowboarding on the tallest mountain there's is! What a trip it would be to jump out of a helicopter and board all the way down, with no fear.
What makes someone a success?Loving what they do. Money is not the most important thing in life and its not what makes us successful, its loving what we do everyday at work and at home. Success to me is happiness and balance at home and work.

Who is your Hair Hero? Why?Hmmmm, well for years I was a big fan of Jennifer Aniston! I have lover her hair from the first episode of Friends. Even today she's my hair hero. She always has beautiful hair, long or short, always healthy and looking fabulous. When I was younger I'd go to the hair stylists and tell them to give me the "Jennifer" cut. I think a lot of people did.
Who was your first crush?My first real crush was Tyler in grade 3. He was everyone's else's too! I had my first real dance with him. We were in grade 5 and my mom made me wear this pink and white dress with flowers on it, and we danced to "I'm the one who wants to be with you" by Mr. Big... it was epic! God I still love that song.

Where do forest rangers go to "get away from it all"?
Somewhere even more remote and isolated, so possibly a nice quiet lighthouse? I think a lighthouse overlooking the ocean would be a nice change of scenery for a hard working forest ranger.
If you could have a dinner with any three people from any time, who would they be?Barack Obama, for too many reasons to list, and the other two would be Jason Segal and Alexander Ovechkin. Jason and Alexander both seem fun and silly and could give us some good laughs.
What did you get into trouble for the most when you were a child?Talking in class! All of my report cards informed my parents of my tendency to "socialize during class time." Eventually I think my parents just accepted it and I stopped getting into trouble, instead it just became a joke around our house.

List five things you would need to survive, if left alone on a deserted island.First and foremost lip balm, dry lips would make living in isolation that much worse. A few photographs of friends and family, I loved being surrounded by photos of loved ones. A puzzle book because I am addicted to puzzles: logic puzzles, crosswords, you name it! A sketchbook/pencil. I imagine with all that free time I would be able to make some serious progress on my artistic skills. Lastly a canoe so I could paddle away once boredom sets in.

Which is the best vacation you have ever been on?That's tough to decide but I would say my trip to New York is my favourite vacation. I have yet to find another city as unique and exciting as NY. You could live there for a year and barely scratch the surface of everything the city has to offer. I would recommend to anyone!
What is your favourite cuisine?Since coffee doesn't count as a cuisine I would have to say Italian. I love the sauces, breads and especially the wine. I would love to go on a culinary trip to Italy one day.
Who's played the most influential part in your life?Probably my parents. I'm an only child so I grew up extremely close with my mom and dad. My parents are excellent role models of personal values and they both have a wicked sense of humour. I like to think that both my values and sense of humour come from my parents.
